Simon Humbled Himself Before Jesus

Written by Wes Schaeffer | February 6, 2022

From today’s reading...

When Simon Peter saw this he fell at the knees of Jesus saying, ‘Leave me, Lord; I am a sinful man.’” Luke 5:8

Compare Simon Peter’s reaction to being called by name by Jesus to the members of a celebrity’s entourage or a snooty girlfriend who flaunts her badge to everyone within shouting distance as she proudly proclaims, “I’m with the band.”

Now compare Simon Peter’s reaction to being called by name by Jesus to the members of your church (and yourself?), i.e., those with the bumper sticker that reads, “In case of the rapture, this car will be unmanned.”

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
