Big Things In Small Packages

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | September 8, 2017

From today’s reading...

You, Bethlehem-Ephrathah,
too small to be among the clans of Judah,
From you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel;"

2,800 years ago this is how they said “big things come in small packages.”

After doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu now for 7 months I can tell you I no longer judge a book by its cover when it comes to sizing up a smaller opponent.

There are guys 60 and even 80 pounds lighter than me that put a hurting on me because they’ve put in the time to master their craft.

Thousands of times they’ve made the wrong move, been forced to tapout, gotten up, dusted themselves off, and went at it again.

For years.

It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

How big is your fight?

Are you giving up and giving in because you think you are “nobody”?
...because you think your “little contribution won’t make a difference”?

Let me tell you something...I was as moved and inspired by the client who donated his entire commission check to me as the single mom, hustling to be a provider and role model for her children who messaged me and said she wanted to donate but just couldn’t but she was praying for my efforts to help and for those impacted by the storm.

Stay in the game.
Keep your head in the game.
Maintain the will to fight on.

Maybe you are called to do great things yourself.
Maybe you are called to inspire and lift up one who is to do great things, and is only able to do so because of your encouraging word and helping hand at just the right time.

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
