Ask So You Will Know What To Do

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | September 25, 2021

From today’s reading...

But they did not understand what he said; it was hidden from them so that they should not see the meaning of it, and they were afraid to ask him about it.” Luke 9:45

Jesus answers our questions when we ask. Just one chapter earlier, beginning in Luke 8:9, Jesus explained the parable of the sower and the seed to His apostles.

Jesus explains the same story in Matthew 13:10 and Mark 4:10. Later in Mark (v34), we read “but he explained everything to his disciples when they were by themselves.”

But today, they were afraid; thus, they remained in the dark, less capable of doing what needed to be done.

What are you not doing because of fear?

What are you not asking God for clarification?

When you were ten, you had no problem asking your parents for help with your schoolwork.

If you have even half a brain, you have no problem asking your co-workers or managers for help when things aren’t lining up at work.

Yet when it comes to your soul and living a life as God intended for you, you shirk your responsibilities and allow fear to silence you, to hobble you, to hold you back, and hold you down?

Get over yourself.

Get out of your head.

Set aside your vanity and your fear.

Get on your knees and ask God to clarify what is murky, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
