It's Like Trying To Fill The Sea

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | September 24, 2020

From today’s reading...

All rivers go to the sea,
yet never does the sea become full.
To the place where they go,
the rivers keep on going.
All speech is labored;
there is nothing one can say.
The eye is not satisfied with seeing
nor is the ear satisfied with hearing.” Ecclesiastes 1:7-8

We all have a special connection to Qoheleth these days, don’t we? It’s like “what’s the friggin’ use? Pass the ammo and the bourbon. If these fools don’t want to listen…I’ll make them!”

When those thoughts and feelings overwhelm you, return to today’s reading from Psalm 90. God’s timing is not our timing. Pray for the Lord’s return and His pity. Pray for His kindness to fill you. Pray for His guidance so that your work is profitable, which can only happen if you...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
