From today’s reading...
The blessing-cup, which we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ; and the loaf of bread which we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?” 1 Corinthians 10:16
Psalm 116 today reminds us to “take up the cup of salvation and call on the name of Yahweh” (v13) and “offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of Yahweh” (v17).
Paul reminds us to do the same, but now we understand the true, full meaning of this sacrifice we are to take up and offer and participate in.
Like the vows between a husband and wife, “For better or for worse,” we are to share in the good and the bad with Jesus, but we couldn’t handle the bad without Him.
He did not come to remove our suffering. He came to show us how to willingly take up our crosses and walk with Him.
He showed us how to find meaning in our suffering.
He came to give us what we need to make that difficult walk successfully....
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
Now go sell something.
