From today’s reading...
But he turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle in my path, because you are thinking not as God thinks but as human beings do.’” Matthew 16:23
Just six verses ago, Jesus was praising Simon.
Five verses ago, He was renaming him and giving Peter power over the underworld.
Four verses ago, Jesus was giving Peter the keys to the kingdom.
Now He’s calling peter Satan.
Life comes at us fast.
So does Satan.
You can be in the presence of the Lord and still screw up when you think you know better than God.
Pay attention.
Get your act together.
Keep your mouth shut, and your heart open, which is the only way to...
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
Now go sell something.
