The River Stopped Running Through It!

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | August 17, 2017

From today’s reading...

“...the waters (of the Jordan) flowing from upstream halted, backing up in a solid mass for a very great distance indeed,...”

We all know the story about the parting of the Red Sea, but why do we not discuss the parting of the Jordan River?

Is it because Joshua was second string to Moses? (We remember Steve Young after Joe Montana! Aaron Rodgers after Brett Favre!)

It’s a 156 mile long river flowing through the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea and Joshua made it stop flowing so his people could cross into Jericho.

That seems like a big deal to me.

If we can overlook and/or forget miracles like this, what dozens of little joys and miracles in your life are you overlooking?

As soon as you cease to find joy and pleasure in the little things, you’ll also cease to find joy and pleasure in the big things.

Because the big things are comprised of a bunch of little things.

You know this if you’ve ever lost your smartphone’s charging cable.

That $700 gizmo is a paperweight without a $10 cable.

Slow down.

Take a look around.

Focus on the nuances, the subtleties, the details and I’ll be you’ll find both a bigger breakthrough and the joy that has been escaping you.

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
