A Woman Robed With The Sun

Written by Wes Schaeffer | August 15, 2021

From today’s reading...

Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, robed with the sun, standing on the moon, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant, and in labour, crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth.” Revelation 12:1-2

Sin entered the world through a man and a woman, so isn’t it fitting that God used another man and woman to bring about its cleansing?

The Bible opens by teaching us how the first man and woman brought sin into the world, with the woman nudging the man to take the sinful action.

The Bible closes by teaching us how the Son of Man and “woman” (John 2:4 is where the woman nudges the Man to perform His first miracle at the wedding at Cana) worked together to create for us a path to cleanse our sin and free us from its eternal damnation.

If you ignore or downplay Mary’s role in our salvation and/or the fully-human nature of Jesus, Revelation probably scares, bores, or confuses you.

From age one to 101, when you are sick or afraid, you want your mommy.

If you are sick, confused, exhausted, or losing hope in this world, turn to the mommy of Jesus, and I guarantee you she’ll nudge you in the right direction to do the right thing, just as she nudged her Son. Honor your mother, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
