Forsake and Failure Are Not Your Future

Written by Wes Schaeffer | August 13, 2019

From today’s reading...

Be brave and steadfast; have no fear or dread of them,
for it is the LORD, your God, who marches with you;
he will never fail you or forsake you”

This is the advice Moses gives the Israelites just before they cross the Jordan into the Promised Land without him.

Although the Lord will never forsake you, He will punish you for disobedience, as any good, loving father does.

In Numbers 20 we see Moses disobey God in striking the rock twice and the Lord immediately informed him of his punishment.

The worst thing a parent can do to their children is set an improper example to them. Do what you say you’re going to do. Be not allowing Moses to cross the Jordan, God is proving He will never fail or forsake us.

As love incarnate, He knows what tough love is and accepting it, applying it in our own lives, and allowing it to guide us is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
