Pass Through The City and Strike

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | August 12, 2020

From today’s reading...

To the others I heard the LORD say:
‘Pass through the city after him and strike!
Do not look on them with pity nor show any mercy!’” Ezekiel 9:5

The Old Testament is scary as all get out. It’s like “Vikings” meets “Game of Thrones” meets “Sons of Anarchy.” Bad people get away with too much. Good people are oppressed and die gruesome deaths at an early age.

But then...then we get some “Avengers” meets “Guardians of the Galaxy” and the bad guys get their comeuppance, which we see today.

The Lord sends six—not one or three or seven or ten or twelve—six men “each with a destroying weapon in his hand.”

After “the man dressed in linen, with a writer’s case at his waist,” marked the foreheads of those who did not rejoice nor participate in “the abominations” of their peers with a “Thau,” the six men were turned loose to render violent judgment to the evil ones.

I know times are tough and scary right now.

Just know that God knows what you’re going through.

He knows who is contributing to your pain and suffering.

He will stand by your side at the appropriate time, so please dig down deep and do whatever it takes to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
