To Be Honored, Serve

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | August 10, 2021

From today’s reading...

In all truth I tell you, unless a wheat grain falls into the earth and dies, it remains only a single grain; but if it dies it yields a rich harvest. Anyone who loves his life loses it; anyone who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me, must follow me, and my servant will be with me wherever I am. If anyone serves me, my Father will honour him.”
John 12:24-26

How many times have you read this passage and nodded your head as you closed your eyes and whispered, “Amen, Jesus. Amen. I’ll die for you. Pick me. I’ll do the hard work. I’m up for the challenge.”, but now you’re freaking out because you may have to cancel a trip or turn down a job or sign a petition or find a new grocery store or find a new church because of your strongly held religious beliefs?

You asked for it, remember?

Do you love your comfy pre-COVID life more than God, or are you ready to stand up and be counted and counted upon?

Yes, this too shall pass.

But it might only pass because of your sacrifice.

All will give some. Some will give all.

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
