From today’s reading...
Finally his father Isaac said to Jacob,
‘Come closer, son, and kiss me.’”
Jacob betrayed his father with a kiss in order to steal the blessings due his older brother, Esau. (That didn't work out too well for another guy we read about in Luke 22.)
Yet God still loved Jacob, as we read in Psalm 135:For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself,
Israel as his treasured possession."
But that did not keep Jacob and his mother, Rebekah, from having to eventually suffer for their lies and deceptions.
Two wrongs do not make a right.
You are to always follow the 10 Commandments.
You are to always honor your mother and father.
Doing so is the only way to help you...
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
