Just Do What Is Right

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | July 18, 2022

From today’s reading...

‘You have already been told what is right and what Yahweh wants of you. Only this, to do what is right, to love loyalty and to walk humbly with your God.’” Micah 6: 8

We complicate things because we don’t listen to our hearts, to the pleading of our family, or to God.

Your little girl doesn’t need a $10,000 trip to Disneyland for her birthday. She needs you to be home to tuck her in and read her a bedtime story.

Your son doesn’t need embroidered batting bags and $5,000 meal plans at age nine. He needs you to take him fishing, attend his games, and maybe even be the coach.

Your wife doesn’t need a $7,000 purse, $2,000 shoes, and $3,000 meals on your anniversary.

She needs you to fill the car up without her asking, put the toilet seat down because you know it’s a pet peeve, and throw your dirty clothes in the hamper instead of treating her like a maid.

Oh yeah. She needs two more things: pinch her butt when you walk by and kiss her neck when she’s not looking.

God is the same.

He doesn’t expect, want, or demand you to become a contortionist to prove your love for Him.

He just wants you to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
