Keep The Vigil As God Did

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | July 17, 2021

From today’s reading...

The night when Yahweh kept vigil to bring them out of Egypt must be kept as a vigil in honour of Yahweh by all Israelites, for all generations. Exodus 12:42

Juneteenth is a national holiday because it’s the day all black slaves were finally freed in our country. The Israelites were slaves for 430 years, thus the importance of today’s reading from Exodus.

All humans are meant to be free. Moses fought for it. William Wallace fought for it.

In 1865 Union Major-General Gordon Granger read General Order No. 3 to the people of Galveston, informing them that the Union Army had fought for the freedom of all slaves.

And 2,000 years ago, Jesus died for you and me to have a pathway to be free of pain, worry, sin, and death forever.

All we must do is...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
