Look and Look and Look For a Sign

Written by Wes Schaeffer | June 9, 2022

From today’s reading...

‘Now go up’, he told his servant, ‘and look out to sea.’ He went up and looked. ‘There is nothing at all,’ he said. Seven times Elijah told him to go back.’” 1 Kings 18:43

Samaria had endured a long, terrible drought, and all constantly looked to the horizon for a sign that the drought would end.

Yet, that sign never came because they were under the tyrannical rule of Jezebel, who killed all the prophets of God, and the false prophets of Baal.

Right after Elijah proved the power of God against the 450 false prophets in yesterday’s reading, he gave them another sign to drive home the point.

Still, it took some effort, some trust, and clear vision to finally see the sign that the tough times were over, and good times were returning.

Be like Elijah and his servant.

Do God’s will.

Put forth the effort. It’s the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
