Festus Didn't Want To Mess With Us

Written by Wes Schaeffer | June 7, 2019

From today’s reading...

When I was in Jerusalem the chief priests and the elders of the Jews
brought charges against him and demanded his condemnation.”

Paul was rocking the boats of the "upstanding" and "pious" leaders of his time for simply speaking the truth.

Above are the words of Festus to King Agrippa, neither of whom wanted to touch this case with a 10 foot pole, which is why they eventually sent Paul all the way to Rome for Caesar to rule on his case.

Apparently passing the buck has been a thing for at least 2,000 years.

And so has protecting one's cushy position, even a position meant to serve, nurture, and protect those supposedly under their care.

When you face opposition...

When you face vehement opposition...

When you face coordinated, powerful opposition...

Just for telling the truth...

Understand this is not new, and...

You are not alone, and...

Your example will lead many more to the truth, so...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
