33 Years To Your Most Challenging D-Day

From today’s reading...

The following night the Lord stood by him and said, 'Take courage.
For just as you have borne witness to my cause in Jerusalem,
so you must also bear witness in Rome.'”

Thirty-three years before D-Day, Dwight Eisenhower stepped foot onto the grounds of West Point to begin his military career, which included:

• Four years at West Point
• Denied the opportunity to serve in France during WWI
• Ridicule for not having combat experience in WWI
• Enduring 16 years as a major
• Seeing his peers leave for high-paying corporate jobs in the calm of a post-WWI world
• Serving under and/or with MacArthur, Pershing, Patton, and Marshall
• Being promoted to Brigadier General less than seven months after making Colonel
• Zooming through Major General to Lieutenant General in less than two years and just seven more months to General

Just 16 months after becoming a 4-star General he coordinated D-Day, 75 years ago today.

God has a plan. His timetables are different than yours or mine.

Paul's successful "trial" in Jerusalem was to prepare him for Rome.

The challenges He puts in front of us today—that may last 16 or 33 years or more—are to prepare us for even greater ones that are to come, all to glorify His name.

All you and I have to do is trust the process and...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
