From today’s reading...

The parents meanwhile had gone out and shut the door behind them. Tobias rose from the bed, and said to Sarah, ‘Get up, my sister! You and I must pray and petition our Lord to win his grace and his protection.’ And together they said, ‘Amen, Amen,’ and lay down for the night. But Raguel rose and called his servants, who came and helped him dig a grave.” Tobit 7:4, 8-9

Sarah’s parents don’t have the faith that Tobit’s son, Tobias, had.

Tobias knew that Sarah’s seven previous husbands had all been killed on their wedding night because her father, Raguel, warned him when Tobias had asked for Sarah’s hand in marriage.

What Raguel did not know or understand or appreciate was the power of the angel Raphael.

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
