Store Up The Real Treasure

From today’s reading...

‘Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moth and woodworm destroy them and thieves can break in and steal. But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor woodworm destroys them and thieves cannot break in and steal. For wherever your treasure is, there will your heart be too.’” Matthew 6:19-21

You see people camp out—and duke it out—every September when Apple comes out with their latest iPhones, every Black Friday when the prices are slashed on TVs and other electronics, and every time Sony and Nintendo release an updated console.

Then 12 to 24 months later, those items are passed down, traded in, or sold online so the owners can do it all over again.

How much time, energy, and money is spent (wasted?) on fleeting, material goods that are outdated and unwanted as soon as you buy them? Keeping up with the Joneses is a fool’s errand.

The devil wants you tired, distracted, and jealous.

The devil knows if he can get you asking the wrong questions, and chasing the wrong goals, it doesn’t matter what the Truth is.

So focus on the Truth. Seek the Truth.

Follow the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), because He’s the real Treasure, and building up that real Treasure is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
