He Was Guilty of Nothing

Written by Wes Schaeffer | May 6, 2023

From today’s reading...

‘Though they found nothing to justify his execution, they condemned him and asked Pilate to have him put to death.’” Acts 13:28

I know what you’re thinking:

  • “Those Sadducee and Pharisee zealots.”
  • “Those Roman pagans and bureaucrats.”
  • “Those ignorant peasants of ancient Israel.”

Have you heard of the movie “The Mauritanian” about Mohamedou Ould Slahi?

Our very own Uncle Sam held him in Guantanamo Bay from 2002 to 2016.

You could blame it on Bush 43 and Donald Rumsfeld, but Obama, despite his campaign promise to close Gitmo, allowed Slahi to be strung along from 2009 to 2016.

Conspiracy, torture, and murder are not bygone crimes of bygone times in faraway lands.

They are happening today by people we have elected and entrusted with our safety and well-being.

Pay attention.

Step up.

Speak out.

Defend the innocent from the moment of natural conception to natural death, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.
