From today’s reading...
‘Your fathers ate manna in the desert and they are dead; but this is the bread which comes down from heaven, so that a person may eat it and not die.’” John 6:49-50
This week, Jesus has been building His case, with the big reveal and the big divide coming up by Saturday.
He knows how to tell a story.
He knows how to pique the interests of those around Him.
He also knows how to drop the hammer and draw a real line in the sand that He uses to delineate between His true followers and those just looking for a handout.
Get—and stay—on the right side of the line.
Get into the One, Holy, Apostolic Church, “the pillar and foundation of truth,” (1 Timothy 3:15).
This is the only place where you can receive your “daily bread,” which God sends to us from heaven, so we may eat and not die.
But we must receive worthily, for “anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily is answerable for the body and blood of the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 11:27)....
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
Now go sell something.
