Keep Watch Over All

Written by Wes Schaeffer | May 27, 2020

From today’s reading...

Keep watch over yourselves and over the whole flock
of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you overseers,
in which you tend the Church of God
that he acquired with his own Blood.” Acts 20:28

Why are precious metals like gold and silver called “precious?” Before there were industrial uses for them they were, and still are, considered valuable. Why?

Because of the effort it takes to find the sources, pull it out of the earth, refine it, and shape it.

When you exert effort to obtain something, that something becomes dear to you.

Now imagine giving your life for something. How precious would it be to you? Now imagine giving your life for 100 billion somethings, as in the souls of the 100 billion someones who have been born to date. How precious would it be to you?

Now imagine how special you would feel if that someone chose you to belong to and safeguard and nurture His something.

That’s what you’re called to do as members of the One, Holy, Apostolic Church.

And I bet you thought you were “just” a teacher or a truck driver or a gardener or whatever. Ha. You’re the one helping to keep the lights on so others know how to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
