Fast. Pray. Touch. Preach.

Written by Wes Schaeffer | May 15, 2019

From today’s reading...

Then, completing their fasting and prayer,
they laid hands on them and sent them off.”

We're in the fourth week of Easter and still reading from Acts because it's important that we see how the new Church grew after the Passion, death, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus.

Many were attacked both verbally and physically.

Stephen has already been martyred.

But today we see that...

The word of God continued to spread and grow."

It grew because the leaders of the new Church led by example.

They avoided creature comforts by fasting.

They strengthened their community by praying together.

They physically supported one another by laying hands on those who were called and sent to bring the Word to Seleucia, Cyprus, and Salamis...and beyond.

Today, skip dessert, say an extra prayer for someone, and give someone a pat on the back, a high-five, or a hug and let them know you appreciate them. It will help you both...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
