From today’s reading...
Peter began and explained it to them step by step,...”
Today in Acts 11 we see Peter following the example of Jesus, who also had to break down His message into bite-sized morsels for His followers to understand what He was saying in John 10.
(Note that Jesus did not alter or modify His message that was "hard to hear" and "hard to accept" in John 6 when He talked about giving His body and blood. But I digress.)
In John 10 Jesus explains that He is the gate through which we, the sheep, must enter to be saved.
Later, in the last book of John, Jesus tells Peter three times to feed and tend His sheep and lambs, which is why we see Peter leading by example today.
When he was done
...they stopped objecting and glorified God,...."
That's how "The Apostles and the brothers who were in Judea" came to realize it was God's will to bring Gentiles, i.e., the rest of the world, into the faith.
Knowing you are being led "step by step" to the right gate should help you...
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
