From today’s reading...
‘Why do you put God to the test now by imposing on the disciples the very burden that neither our ancestors nor we ourselves were strong enough to support?’” Acts 15:10
Jesus handed Peter, “The Rock,” the keys to His kingdom for a reason. He has no problem standing up and speaking clearly, decisively, and immediately when it’s time to address a problem.
Because of his bold leadership in the early days of the Church, Christianity spread quickly into the gentile world, which had to happen for God’s Word to “reach the remotest parts of the earth,” which we read about on Sunday in Acts 13:47.
So the next time you want to squash someone’s ideas just because “We've never done it like that,” or “We’ve always done it like this,” ask yourself if that is God speaking through you or you speaking just to hear yourself speak.
If it’s the latter, then you may realize that that attitude may not be the best one to help you...
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
