From today’s reading...
The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me.” John 10:27
Jesus calls us His sheep because we are ignorant creatures who will follow whomever we think will lead us to comfort and safety.
Yet, Jesus becomes the Paschal Lamb for us, in the ultimate example of selfless love and leadership.
So the question I have for you today is, do you really know His voice?
Are you listening for it?
Are you yearning to hear it?
Can you pick it out of a crowd?
Are you seeking the lessons He hands down when He speaks to you?
Do you want to follow in His footsteps, which will likely involve pain, discomfort, suffering, and maybe even your death for the sake of others?
It will undoubtedly include death to self.
It will require death to your seeking of constant comfort and distractions in the form of pot, porn, and playoffs.
That’s what He’s calling you to because it’s the only way to...
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
Now go sell something.
