Watch Out For Smooth-Talking Thieves

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | April 3, 2023

From today’s reading...

He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief; he was in charge of the common fund and used to help himself to the contents.” John 12:6

Tell me if you’ve heard things like this recently:

  • “The rich need to pay their fair share of taxes.”
  • “I need to go back to work for the American people.”
  • “Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism,” or USA-PATRIOT.
  • “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.”

Crooked people in positions of power say sweet-sounding things to distract you and get you to lower your guard all the time.

While it’s wonderful and kind and loving and Christ-like to give people the benefit of the doubt, it’s wise to follow Reagan’s advice, which he borrowed from the Russians, “Trust but verify,” which will help you...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.
