Why Are You Persecuting Me?

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | April 28, 2023

From today’s reading...

He fell to the ground, and then he heard a voice saying, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’” Acts 9:4

Saul was not doing anything illegal as he was harassing, arresting, and murdering “any followers of the Way, men or women, that he might find” (v2).

In fact, the high priest was giving him  “letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus” that authorized him to be a terror to the new Christians, which goes to show, any organization, committee, or even nation can go astray, can become corrupt, can be accidentally or intentionally wrong—even evil—thereby necessitating that its citizens stand up, speak up, and do whatever it takes to stop them.

Saul was lucky.

God made it abundantly clear that he was on the wrong path.

You and I are lucky to have Saul’s example to show us how to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.
