Jesus Reproached Them For Not Believing

From today’s reading...

Lastly, he showed himself to the Eleven themselves while they were at table. He reproached them for their incredulity and obstinacy, because they had refused to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.” Mark 16:14

Jesus appeared the Mary of Magdala, who passed on the Good News to “his companions,…who were mourning and in tears,…” (Mark 16:10).

The companions of Jesus did not believe Mary, and they also didn’t believe His two disciples to whom He appeared on the road to Emmaus.

Finally, Jesus appears to all of them and chastises them for their lack of faith and being so stubborn, and probably a little vain, because you know some were thinking, “Hmph. Why would Jesus appear to some woman or those two dudes and not one of His trusted Apostles…like me? This doesn’t make sense. No, it can’t be. They are confused. I won’t believe what they are saying.”

Don’t be incredulous at what Jesus can accomplish.

Don’t be so haughty and vain that you know to whom He should appear to help spread His Good News.

And don’t be hard-headed and thick-necked that you can’t believe what you know to be true, just because you think you are better than the person delivering the message, because that is now how you...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
