Jealousy Killed Jesus

For Pilate knew it was out of jealousy that they had handed him over.” Matthew 27:18

Pilate was a high-ranking official in the Roman military-political machine, so he was probably a follower and practitioner of their polytheistic religion, i.e., he believed in Jupiter, Mars, Minerva, etc.

Being an outsider to the Jews, it was easy for him to see what drove them to demand he crucify Jesus: jealousy.

This is why he washed his hands of this act.

But since Cain slew Abel out of jealousy, none of us can fully wash our hands of this greatest of all sins, which is why God had to give of Himself to show us how to...
