God Brought All Our Sins To Bear On Him

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | April 15, 2022

From today’s reading...

We had all gone astray like sheep, each taking his own way, and Yahweh brought the acts of rebellion of all of us to bear on him.” Isaiah 53:6

Today is Good Friday.

The Gospel reading for today is from John 18.

While it’s easy to get caught up in the politics and the conspiracies and the abandonment of Jesus, it’s important to know the role you and I played in the arrest, torture, and cruel death of Jesus.

Isaiah foretold it precisely.

As sinners, we are rebellious.

Historically, those who rebelled against their king were given death as their prize, i.e., play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

But Jesus is not a typical king, which is good for you and me.

In fact, it’s the only reason we’re alive and able to choose to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
