Testify Boldly Like Peter

Written by Wes Schaeffer | April 14, 2023

From today’s reading...

…you must know, all of you, and the whole people of Israel, that it is by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, and God raised from the dead, by this name and by no other that this man stands before you cured.” Acts 4:10

Peter had just spent the night in jail for the dastardly act of healing a crippled man.

Back then, prisons were tough.

There was no Discovery Channel, three hots, and a cot. It was a real jail, but I digress.

As “the rulers, elders and scribes” (v5) gathered along “with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, Jonathan, Alexander and all the members of the high-priestly families” to grill Peter, he rose to the occasion and took them to task.

The time has passed for us to do the same.

There are wolves in sheep’s clothing in the Vatican down to your local parish; in D.C. down to your local school board; in civil rights groups down to your local police precincts; in the most prestigious universities down to your local daycare.

Call out these devils in Hollywood, board rooms, and courtrooms.

Speak the truth always, and when necessary, use words.

We may be outnumbered, but we’ll never be overpowered, and your testimony will help others...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.
