Everyone Ran In Great Excitement

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | April 13, 2023

From today’s reading...

Everyone came running towards them in great excitement, to the Portico of Solomon, as it is called, where the man was still clinging to Peter and John.” Acts 3:11

Two days ago, we saw Jesus tell Mary at the tomb, “Do not cling to me.” Today we see the healed paralytic clinging to Peter and John, which prevented them from moving about freely.

But God gave them an audience and the words to move them, which, by the way, were tough.

He told them, “you killed the prince of life” (v15a) as “you…demanded that a murderer should be released to you” (v14b).

God is kind, fair, and merciful, which means He is tough.

He is the standard bearer, which means maybe not rubbing your nose in it, but at least making you face the mess you made, acknowledge that you made that mess, apologize and repent for making that mess, and commit to cleaning it up and not letting it happen again.

It’s called tough love. Accept it. Provide it, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.
