One of You Is About To Betray Me

From today’s reading...

And while they were eating he said, ‘In truth I tell you, one of you is about to betray me.’” Matthew 26:21

Judas gets a bad rap, and deservedly so, but as far as I can tell, only one of the twelve, “the disciple whom he loved” (John 19:26) was at the foot of His cross on Golgotha.

I don’t know about you, but if I’m in a fight for my life and I find out that one of you conspired to get me captured and ten of you abandoned me at my darkest moment, I’d say eleven of you betrayed me.

Jesus knew that about the twelve He chose, yet He chose them anyway because He knew He could change the world with these weak, frightened, confused men as long as they willingly sought His forgiveness for their betrayals, which He willingly and lovingly granted, which is the only way we can...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
