The Fast That Pleases God

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | March 4, 2022

From today’s reading...

Is not this the sort of fast that pleases me: to break unjust fetters, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break all yokes?” Isaiah 58:6

God doesn’t want us to suffer.

He also doesn’t want us seeking attention for our worship, fasting, or self-discipline.

And He sure as heck doesn’t want us fighting one another, hurting ourselves, or beaten down and depressed.

God wants you and me to be free.

He wants us to help our neighbors be free.

He wants to lighten our loads, and He wants us to help our neighbors lighten their loads because that’s the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
