Serve Despite The Whispers and The Attacks

Written by Wes Schaeffer | March 11, 2020

From today’s reading...

I hear the whispers of the crowd, that frighten me from every side,

as they consult together against me, plotting to take my life.” Psalm 31:14

In Jeremiah 18 today we see the citizens of Judah and Jerusalem plotting against Jeremiah.

In Matthew 20 we see Jesus giving the Apostles a heads up about how the leaders of Jerusalem are conspiring to kill Him and maybe even those who will "drink from his chalice."

And notice how today's Psalm connects and continues this theme.

How many babies in the wombs of their mothers have whispers around them of those plotting to kill them?

How many good and decent politicians are surrounded by those plotting to end their political careers?

Maybe you just want to be a better leader within your own company and implement a new program or scuttle an underperforming division or product line and you're getting feedback that your job is on the line.

Remember the final words of Jesus from Matthew 20 today. To be great, you must serve.

Maybe that's why the late great Zig Ziglar always said, "You can have everything you want in life if you just help other people get what they want in life."

Stay humble and serve mankind, because that's the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
