Everything Is Possible In God

Written by Wes Schaeffer | February 28, 2022

From today’s reading...

Jesus gazed at them and said, ‘By human resources it is impossible, but not for God: because for God everything is possible.’” Mark 10:27

Twice today, Jesus attempts to clarify His parable about how difficult it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God.

Despite the visible, tangible examples He has shown them during their time together, i.e., in chapter one alone, we see the rebuking of the unclean spirit in the man in the synagogue, the healing of Peter’s mother-in-law, the healing of “The whole town” (v33), and more miracles beyond those.

Here we are today, nine chapters later, and His disciples are still doubting and confused despite seeing Jesus feed thousands, raise the dead to life, stump the Pharisees on multiple occasions, and perform many more miracles.

But, to their credit, they stuck it out.

Okay, okay.

Most fell asleep when Jesus told them to stay awake and remain vigilant…and then many ran and hid when Jesus was arrested…and one in particular even denied Jesus three times by the fourteenth chapter of Mark…but these same confused scaredy-cats stayed together.

They assembled and prayed and encouraged one another when all seemed lost because they knew in their hearts “for God everything is possible.”

Remembering these words of Jesus is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
