So, my dear brothers, keep firm and immovable, always abounding in energy for the Lord's work, being sure that in the Lord none of your labours is wasted.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
For 61 months today, I’ve trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 5-6 days a week.
There have been many plateaus and deep valleys on this journey where it felt as though not only were I not progressing, but I was actually getting worse.
That’s part of the journey.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tests your desire to do what it takes for as long as it takes to master the art, or at least, master yourself.
Looking back now on this 5+ year journey, I can see how those dark days in the depths of the valleys were laying a foundation for me.
Despite my feelings at the time, I was learning every day.
Every lesson helped me move a little closer towards mastery.
Every day at least one tiny puzzle piece was put into place.
So it is with Jiu-Jitsu. So it is with your faith.
Nothing you ever do in God’s name is wasted effort.
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
Now go sell something.
