From today’s reading...
He banished the man, and in front of the garden of Eden he posted the great winged creatures and the fiery flashing sword, to guard the way to the tree of life.” Genesis 3:23
So Adam and Eve ate of the tree, which possessed the knowledge of good and evil, and for that God punished them…or did He?
The moment Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they were no longer naked without shame. They hid from God.
They covered themselves up.
Why?
Because they saw their vulnerabilities, which showed them how to hurt one another, which was evil, so they tried to hide and protect their vulnerabilities, even from the One who made them.
Now that evil came into their lives, they became separated from God, which is literally hell.
If God allowed us to live forever apart from Him, He’d be condemning us to hell, which He does not want, so He had to protect us from ourselves until He could provide us the path back to Him, but that’s a story for another day.
Just know that He did provide that path back to us, so now all we must do is...
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
