They Shared Her Joy

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | December 23, 2021

From today’s reading...

The time came for Elizabeth to have her child, and she gave birth to a son; and when her neighbours and relations heard that the Lord had lavished on her his faithful love, they shared her joy.” Luke 1:57-58

Here we are, near the shortest day of the year as winter officially begins, gathering to celebrate the birth of a child.

In preparation, we read about the birth of His cousin and how his birth was celebrated and indicative of God’s “faithful love.”

How much better would the world be if we celebrated every pregnant woman?

How much better would the world be if we celebrated every child in the womb?

How much better would the world be if we celebrated every birth?

How much better would the world be if we celebrated the sacrament of holy matrimony?

How much better would the world be if we celebrated St. Elizabeth’s faith daily?

How much better would the world be if we celebrated St. Zechariah’s faith daily?

How much better would the world be if we celebrated St. John the Baptist’s faith daily?

How much better would the world be if we celebrated the birth of Christ daily?

Because keeping Christ in Christmas and every other day is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
