Mary Sought To Serve

From today’s reading...

Mary set out at that time and went as quickly as she could into the hill country to a town in Judah.” Luke 1:39

Mary gets the news of a lifetime. Heck, it was the news of all mankind.

How does she react?

First of all, she bows to the will of God: “Mary said, ‘You see before you the Lord’s servant, let it happen to me as you have said.’ And the angel left her.” Luke 1:38

Then she seeks to serve by setting out to help her cousin, Elizabeth.

Keep in mind, the distance between Mary’s hometown of Nazareth and Elizabeth’s in Sin Karma was about 100 miles and 1,336 higher in elevation, all by foot, camel, and donkey.

So it would’ve been four to five days of rough travel to reach her cousin, but Mary did not hesitate because she was “full of grace,” full of love, and sought to serve her family, her Son, you, and me, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
