You Can't Please 'Em All

Written by Wes Schaeffer | December 10, 2021

From today’s reading...

‘For John came, neither eating nor drinking, and they say, “He is possessed.” The Son of man came, eating and drinking, and they say, “Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.” Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.’” Matthew 11:18-19

This brings to mind a few adages/cliches:

  • You can’t win for losing.
  • You do you, Boo.
  • Haters gonna hate.
  • I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.
  • Some will see the glass as half-empty or half-full.
  • You can’t please everyone. You’re not a jar of Nutella®.

Jesus knew the game, and he played it despite knowing the price to play it, as did John.

So be yourself.

Do your thing.

Just do it with the heart of Jesus and John, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
