Accept a Baptism of Repentance

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | December 5, 2021

From today’s reading...

In the fifteenth year of Tiberius Caesar's reign, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judaea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of the territories of Ituraea and Trachonitis, Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene, and while the high-priesthood was held by Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah, in the desert. He went through the whole Jordan area proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, as it is written in the book of the sayings of Isaiah the prophet: A voice of one that cries in the desert: Prepare a way for the Lord, make his paths straight!” Luke 3:1-4

In 1606, the London Company planted roots in what would become Jamestown, VA.

Now imagine how…interesting…it would be to some informed parties if no other settlements had been established in over 400 years, but today, word got out that a new one was soon to be created.

Well, it had been about 450 years since the last of the Old Testament prophets were doing their thing.

Suddenly, without warning, John the Baptist comes with his reminder from one of the greatest Old Testament prophets, Isaiah.

John piqued the interests of some friends, some strangers, and some comfortable yet powerful fat cats.

His speaking up put his physical life at risk, but it was his calling to help us make room for Jesus in our lives.

It’s time for you to speak up for Jesus and open up to Him, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
