Jesus Ransomed Us With Himself

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | November 8, 2022

From today’s reading...

He offered himself for us in order to ransom us from all our faults and to purify a people to be his very own and eager to do good.” Titus 2:14

When you become a parent, you start to get a taste, a hint of what God did for us.

The sacrifices He made.

The love He has.

There’s an episode of Happy Days where The Fonz fakes a challenge with a dad and then backs down to appear weak to the little boy in an effort to drive the son back to his father because it was the right thing to do for the boy.

The Fonz ruined his reputation with the boy out of love and a solid sense of right and wrong.

As the father leaves with his son in his arms, he turns and mouths “thank you” to The Fonz.

Jesus didn’t fake defeat.

He allowed Himself to be defeated to the point of death.

Then He beat death “to save the whole human race” (11b).

The least you can do is recognize it, accept it, and act like the ransomed soul that you are, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
