From today’s reading...
‘these are the men who devour the property of widows and for show offer long prayers. The more severe will be the sentence they receive.’” Mark 12:40
Jesus has no problem hammering those in authority because He knows they have more influence and power to do both good and cause harm, and many of them choose the selfish path.
Being the least selfish man ever to live, is it any wonder Jesus is not happy with them?
If you are in a position of influence, ask yourself if you’re doing things for show and for accolades or to make the world a better place.
While there can always be some overlap, the trend of seeking seats of honor and awards and recognition is not your friend.
Humble yourself.
Seek to serve.
Render aid to those in need.
Keep your prayer life simple but consistent since it’s the only way to...
Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
Now go sell something.
