Kneel Before The Judge

Written by Wes Schaeffer | November 7, 2019

From today’s reading...

For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God;
for it is written:
‘As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bend before me,
and every tongue shall give praise to God.’
So then each of us shall give an account of himself to God.”

Despite what Hollywood may want you to believe, there is no perfect crime. Everyone eventually gets caught and will be held accountable for their actions, either in this life or the next.

So if someone has done you wrong and it is weighing heavily on your mind, take some comfort in knowing they will have to explain themselves on bended knee before God.

In the meantime, you do you.

Pray for the grace to forgive. Pray for the ability to replace anger with love. Pray for understanding. Pray for patience. Pray that you remain a positive force, a role model, an example of how to live and treat others in how you conduct yourself.

This does not mean you turn a blind eye to evil, sin, and corruption.

On the contrary, just two days ago Paul reminded us in chapter 12 of this same letter to the Romans to "hate what is evil."

Discernment is not judgment. So use your own good judgment to discern right from wrong, because the only way to celebrate your own judgment day is to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.
