You Will Be Betrayed

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | November 23, 2022

From today’s reading...

You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relations and friends; and some of you will be put to death.” Luke 21:16

People think it’ll be “cool” and “fun” and “fulfilling” and “rewarding” and “freeing” to go into business for themselves until they see what it takes to run a business for themselves, which is why so many small businesses fail.

The same is true for Christianity.

It seems glorious and wonderful and magical and brave to “accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior,” that is, until the betrayals and the persecutions and the lies and the unfriending and the reporting and the attacks and the and the battles and the wars and the deaths start happening, then it’s the “oh woe is me” posts and the excuses and the explanations of why they “just can’t maintain this way of life…I’ve discovered I’m spiritual but not religious…yada yada yada.”

If you believe in God, then you believe in the devil.

If you believe in God and the devil, then you  believe in good and evil.

If you believe in good and evil, then you believe they cannot coexist.

Therefore, there must be war, and in war, there are casualties.

You can sacrifice your body in this war, but you must not sacrifice your soul, so reread Luke today and take Jesus’s words to heart, which is the only way to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.
