God's Kingdom Lasts Forever

Posted by Wes Schaeffer | November 23, 2021

From today’s reading...

In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and this kingdom will not pass into the hands of another race: it will shatter and absorb all the previous kingdoms and itself last for ever-…” Daniel 2:44

Nebuchadnezzar was the king of Babylon, defeated Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and took Daniel as his slave/servant.

God protected Daniel and his three friends, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, so they served the king by answering his questions and interpreting his dreams.

Today we pick up where Daniel has stepped up as the only one among all of the “magicians and soothsayers, sorcerers and Chaldeans” (v2) who could interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.

In so doing, Daniel saved the lives of all the sages of Babylon and received great gifts and even a promotion for himself and his friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego (v49).

We know that even greater things are in Daniel’s future, so take courage in knowing that God can bring about great things through you and for you, regardless of your current lot in life.

If God can use a servant/slave to straighten up and bring down the mightiest of kings, he can turn around your life as well because He will live forever, and He wants you with Him, which means you need to...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
