The Crown and Sickle

Written by Wes Schaeffer | November 22, 2022

From today’s reading...

Now in my vision I saw a white cloud and, sitting on it, one like a son of man with a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.” Revelation 14:14

We humans are funny, fickle creatures.

Every day you see on social media posts like, “Karma is a bitch,” and “He got what he deserved,” and “He had it coming,” while in the next breath, they’ll post, “Good thing I’m saved!” and “I’m covered in the blood of the Lamb.”

How can that be?

How can the law of cause and effect apply to everyone but you just because you had an emotional moment one time four years at a rock concert where a dude with holes in his jeans read a few of his favorite Bible verses while another dude with cool tats strummed his acoustic guitar…repeatedly…then sang the same verse…for 27 minutes…while a fog machine spewed forth into the laser light show?

The King will harvest with His angels with fire at the ready (v18) to put us “into a huge winepress, the winepress of God’s anger,” (v19b) because “he is coming, coming to judge the earth” (Psalm 96:13 today).

So do as the King commands.

Repent and...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.
