Everyone Will See Him

Written by Wes Schaeffer | November 21, 2021

From today’s reading...

Look, he is coming on the clouds; everyone will see him, even those who pierced him, and all the races of the earth will mourn over him. Indeed this shall be so. Amen.” Revelation 1:7

The great apokalypsis, i.e., the unveiling, the big reveal.

What could be greater than pulling back the clouds and seeing Jesus?

What could be greater than seeing the look on the faces of all of His haters as they realize, “Oh oh…we done messed up!”?

While that might be a great moment, go back and read the middle of that first sentence, “even those who pierced him.”

While piercing certainly means those who literally tortured Him and crucified Him, it also means you and me.

“But Wes, I’ve never pierced Jesus. I’m a believer, a follower, I love Him.”

I know, I know.

But sadly, you’re mistaken.

Every sin you and I have ever committed has pierced the heart of Jesus in just the same manner as a parent catching their child in a lie or shoplifting or bullying someone at school or worse.

You and I will see Him, and we will mourn our weak, selfish, prideful ways, and we will mourn.

So remember He is returning, and He will look you in the eye. If you want to look forward to that day,...

Stay the course.
Keep the faith.
Endure.

Now go sell something.
